I don’t mean to sound so blase about yesterday’s events in California, but it is kind of hard not to when mass shootings have become the new normal here in America.
And, of course, it didn’t take long for the cogs of the U.S. political machine to jump onto Twitter offering outrage and prayers.
What is interesting, though, is how the different political parties responded. There is obviously a clear distinction in the rhetoric used, let’s see if you can pin point it.
Now, I’m not saying that these politicians are unaware of what they are doing. They are very aware of who they are megaphoning to. But, I guess what bothers me is that prayers without action are meaningless platitudes. For me, I suppose the distinction is in active versus passive wording… It just amuses me that the distinction also happens to be divided by party, too.
